realityism: (not to be taken as gospel) An unorganized religion that correlates God with reality. Not that God made reality or even that these are synonymous, but to rectify a case of mistaken identity — with reality being the real thing and God the metaphor. “In the beginning” reality invented humans, who then invented God because reality was judged a too mysterious and unruly Creator and something more familiar and pliable was needed. So God got ideated, capitalized, and gendered (and schism-ed), but His origin overlooked. Thus realityists, while wholly sympathetic to God, simply prefer ‘reality’ — though perhaps just as fraught, still the more empirical, originative, mutualistic, aspirational; indeed most god-inspiring denomination.
